my kita – make kindergarten happen
My Kita is a web application developed as a final project during the Le Wagon Bootcamp, designed to help parents in Berlin find and apply to kindergartens in a more organized way.
It was created by a small team of three and built with Ruby on Rails using Le Wagon’s Rails template.
The application offers a search tool to find kindergartens by neighborhood, an interactive map to visualize results, and a task manager to track applications. Users can save kindergartens, add comments and statuses, manage reusable email templates for contacting institutions, and receive Telegram reminders for follow-ups.
All kindergarten data is automatically scraped from the official Kita-Navigator Berlin, providing up-to-date and location-specific listings. My Kita focuses on solving a real-world problem through a clean, user-friendly interface.
